Quick Brief

Help the Cookie Monster and Elmo bake more alphabet or word cookies in the Alphabet Kitchen!

Educational Aspects

Spelling -By opting to go with the Cookie Monster, your child will be able to create word cookies which will teach him/her how to spell simple 3-letter words, like bat and dog.

Vocabulary -Your child will also get to expand their vocabulary even if they are familiar with most common 3-letter words since the game even includes slightly more complicated words like “pun” and “dag” (the shortened form of the word “decorate” according to the game).

The Alphabet -If your child decided to work with Elmo to make their cookies, they will be able to have fun baking A, E, I, O, and U cookies that they have decorated themselves! There are a variety of colors and toppings that your kid can add to their cookies.

Phonics -Each letter and word in this game is pronounced as clearly and precisely as the characters can. Although the game doesn’t encourage your child to do so, your child may enjoy spelling the words out loud along with the Sesame Street characters.

Note: Unless you play the game using the Tigglywords toy, you’ll then need to buy the full version of the game to unlock all the letters and words.

Less Educational Aspects

Sharing -Interestingly, at the end of the cookie-making session, your child will be given the choice of “eating” the cookies themselves by tapping on the cookies, or to share the cookies they made with the Cookie Monster. Even if they started “eating” the cookies themselves, the Cookie Monster will plead for them to share. So, in some way, your child may be able to learn the concept of “sharing is caring” through this game.
